Quality Sleep? Who needs its anyway? How I use Young Living pure essential oils in my home and with my family to improve our quality or rest.
Ask any new mum what it is like to go without sleep, much of the first year of a new babies life for the parent is a blur. I barely slept when I was pregnant with my first son, mainly due to his positioning in the womb. I have not every caught up either 8 years on.
Quality sleep is so important at every age and stage. There is nothing better than a good night's sleep, uninterrupted quality rest. Adding essential oils to your nighttime routine is a great way to start your relaxation time off well.
I always say to people when first chatting to them about oils and their success is that it is important to remember that essential oils work differently for everyone. I encourage you to experiment with different oils, or try a different usage option to find your perfect addition to your relaxation routine.
Some are better on me topically like Clary Sage and others in the diffuser - my all time favourite is Northern Lights Black Spruce, Lavender and Orange.
Let's chat about some of these amazing pure essential oils.
Cedarwood Pure Essential Oil
Cedarwood essential oil has a warm, relaxing aroma that is soothing when diffused. In our home I love that Cedarwood creates a relaxing, calming, and comforting atmosphere when diffused to support a relaxing nighttime routine. It is one oil we always have on hand and it blends well with many other oils.
-Includes naturally occurring constituents that are high in sesquiterpenes
Add it to your bedtime routine in your Lantern Diffuser diffuse cedarwood in the evening to create a relaxing atmosphere and help neutralize odors. I love to add lavender essential oil to mine as well.

- 4 drops Lavender Essential Oil
- 2 drops Cedarwood Essential Oil
- 2 drops Vetiver Essential Oil
- 2 drops Geranium Essential Oil
change the dilution rate to suit.
Cedarwood is a lovely oil for the skin as well, add to your favorite lotions and skin care and apply before bed or add a few drops to your shampoo for a boost for your hair.
Lavender Pure Essential Oil
Lavender essential oil has a floral, calming scent that can be used aromatically or topically. With its many benefits, Lavender is one of our most popular products.
We use lavender in our home on all the members of the family as we find it helps promotes feelings of calm and fights occasional nervous tension. I love that it has balancing properties and that with a few drops of lavender we can calm the mind and body.
Lavender essential oil includes the naturally occurring constituents linalyl acetate, linalool, and ocimene.
Add it to your bedtime routine:
-Add 4 drops of Lavender and 1 cup of Epsom salt to a bath to create a relaxing environment.
-Unwind in the evening with a calming, Lavender-infused neck or back massage.
-Use Lavender as part of a bedtime routine by rubbing it on the bottoms of your feet or diffusing it next to your bed.
Valerian Pure Essential Oil
Valerian's unique aroma inspires a calm and emotional balance. It is an ideal companion to any aromatherapy to relieve stress and to calm the mind and the body.
-Eases occasional restlessness as part of a bedtime routine
-Promotes feelings of calm and helps with occasional nervous tension
-Promotes feelings of relaxation

Add it to your bedtime routine:
-Use this oil topically on the back of the neck or on the bottoms of feet as part of your relaxation practice.
-Diffuse it next to your bed to help ease occasional restlessness.

-Use it with a relaxing massage or diffuse it during times of occasional distress to help create a calming environment.
Peace & Calming Pure Essential Oil
Peace & Calming is a blend of Tangerine, Orange, Ylang Ylang, Patchouli, Blue Tansy. This fragrant oil blend is a wonderful addition to your meditation, evening routine, or playtime with the kids.
-Diffuse this blend to freshen the air, especially in rooms where children play or study.
-Diffuse it in your bedroom at night.
-Apply it to the bottoms of feet at night as part of a bedtime ritual for your whole family.
-Dilute it with V-6™ Vegetable Oil Complex for a calming back massage before naps or bed.
-Add 4-5 drops to 1 cup Epsom salt for a centering bath as part of a calming evening routine.
Tranquil Roll-On is a blend of all our bedtime favorites: Lavender, Cedarwood, and Roman Chamomile.
Add it to your bedtime routine by:
-Usher in bedtime for kids and parents alike with a familiar, soothing scent by applying Tranquil to the bottoms of feet during evening routines.
-Inhale or roll Tranquil over your heart for a centering aroma.
-Wind down after a hectic day by applying Tranquil to your neck or shoulders, then massaging for 20-30 seconds.
-Roll on the bottoms of your feet and your temples as you get in bed each night.
